Ivey-Campaign Questions For Those Running for the new Monarchy

I am actually not a fan of themed reigns. I spent several years in the RW making costumes for a themed reign that I only wore once and stuck in the back of my closet. My "theme " for a lack of a better word will be to work on solidifying what we already have to work with. A lot of the plans that King Catt and I had for the current reign had to be pushed aside due to things that had to be dealt with immediately. I believe we still have a lot of work to do on our corpora, We had a lot of suggested ideas on how to fix the A & S system, we need to be more united as a kingdom in general. We have a lot of very talented people with a lot to offer our kingdom and with a wide verity of interests, I would like to utilize those willing to help and do fund raising during the winter reign to solidify our coffers so that we can throw some amazing events during the up coming reigns with out having to scramble for the money or rely so much on private donations.

The nice thing about a winter reign is that is not usually as jammed packed as a summer reign allowing us as a kingdom and me as a monarch if elected to work on some of these problem areas. I have asked wisp as stated in my last post to help me work on some of the other areas he is more knowledgeable in so that these areas don't get neglected. One thing I have noticed about our kingdom is that we tend to have idea upon idea but nothing very rarely gets done with them. We very rarely have some one who says okay, we are taking this idea and running with it to start the ball. I feel a winter reign is a good time to be able to take some of the ideas from our boards and actually play them out, be proactive about them and see what works and what doesn't for our kingdom.

Again, wisp and I agree on several of the things that need to happen. The things that I want to see happen such as the corpora changes, a revised system for quals and A&S in general, and the other things mentioned require the power given to monarch. Being queen would allow me to focus on these areas and any other drama's that might come up ( because this is amtgard, there is always some kind of drama.) would leave wisp free to work on the areas he has been working on for some time with out the other headaches of being monarch distracting from his time. While we have some of the same goals we have some different ones and different ways of achieving them. Either way, which ever of us becomes monarch I can assure you that it will be a productive reign. And should Wisp be elected, I have offered in the same to assist him in any way I can.

I will answer all of these questions here as they tie in together. As far as many of the questions being asked go, wisp and I are on the same page about a lot of what is going on inside and out of our kingdom. Something to keep in mind when talking to people from other kingdoms is that what they say might work well for their kingdom yes but it might not work for ours since dynamics in each group are going to be different. Something else to keep in mind is that the focus of each group may also be different. It never hurts to be in touch with other players through out the nation and learn about their systems. It then comes down to trying them out and as wisp said, taking what works for us, throwing out the rest and improving our kingdom. But again as i pointed out earlier in this post it takes some one being organized and daring enough to say okay enough discussion this is what we will try, this will be the next thing we try and keeping the communication with the entire kingdom open and flowing to know how these things are working out.

To answer Fira's question, I again like Wisp feel that we don't and shouldn't need to baby sit any more. Our kingdom and our parks need to be able to function with out hand holding. How ever, I believe that communication is a huge thing when operating a kingdom. Being available to answer questions, being a visible and proactive leader should be a must. The other nice thing about a winter reign is that it is not so jammed full of events which leaves a wider budget and time for travel should weather permit. That means more opportunity to have face to face time with our parks and their officers. As long as communication lines are kept open there should be no need to baby sit.


To sum all of this up and sorry for the long post, in past reigns there has been a lot that had to be focused on to get us started as a kingdom. We are now at the point where we could be using this reign to fine tune and oil the machine. We have a chance to put some of the good ideas we have seen put into play and tested. Winter gives us a good chance to promote more communication and face time between the parks and the rest of the kingdom as a whole. It also gives us a chance with out all the other distractions of a summer reign to expand and solidify those incoming areas.

I like to think that during this last reign I have stepped up and shown that I can be a voice for our kingdom and that I have the skills necessary to accomplish the things I have listed. It might not be so much "new" as much as a continuation but these are all things that I truly believe will help make our kingdom better.
